Vintage Italian walking cane from Pordenone with a resin dog-head handle clad in 925 silver sheet, 94 cm long (8 cm wide, 4 cm deep), dating to 1960–1970, in good used condition with minor age-related marks.
Description from the seller
An Italian-made walking cane. The handle depicts a dog's head (likely a greyhound) crafted in resin and clad with a 925 sterling silver plate (stamped 'Gr. 1.0').
The item comes from a private collection and has been kept solely for display/decorative purposes; it has never been used as a walking aid.
Dimensions:
Total length: 94 cm
• Handle dimensions: 7.5 x 4.5 x 8 cm
• Tip length: 4 cm
Condition Report:
• General conditions: Excellent / Never used. Solid structure and the head is perfectly stationary.
• Damage: There are light superficial scratches on the shaft due to rubbing in the cane-holder vase where it was stored. The silver punch mark appears slightly damaged/worn but identifiable. In the intersections and in the bas-reliefs of the head there is dark patina/dust of time, intentionally left intact to preserve the integrity of the silver leaf and to avoid aggressive polishing.
• Restorations: None. The tip is the original old one.
• Alterations: None. The cane maintains its original length (94 cm) and has not been shortened.
