Description from the seller
Antique Empire-style open-shelf bookcase in walnut burl and thuja burl.
An important Empire-style open bookcase, dating from the early years of the 20th century, made with precious veneers in walnut burl and thuja burl. The architectural structure develops vertically with sober and balanced lines, punctuated by four front cylindrical-section columns, adorned with finely chased capitals in gilded bronze, a clear nod to neoclassical aesthetics.
The central body houses three open shelves, in addition to the base, ideal for placing books or decorative objects. The upper cap features a moulded frame with a wide burl veneer band, which gives movement and depth to the piece. The base is solid and well-proportioned, with feet enriched by bronze elements. The surfaces show a warm amber tone, with lively and dense grain typical of the woods used.
An elegant, imposing piece of furniture, perfect for studies, libraries, or classic interiors, an expression of the quality and formal rigor of early 20th-century cabinetmaking inspired by the Empire style.
Dimensions:
Height: 154 cm
Width: 85cm
Depth: 41 cm
Code: LSI6049
