Description from the seller
Rare open bookcase from the Empire style – around 1820.
The exterior woodwork is mahogany and the interior is oak.
Above a drawer.
The oak wood shelves are height-adjustable. (original)
These open bookcases aren’t seen very often.
Most have two little doors with glass panels.
Along the sides we see pilasters with caryatids.
Elegant female heads inspired by the Caryatids of the Acropolis in Athens.
Cast bronze and then color it.
Under two little feet.
Ancient Greece was a beloved theme in the Empire.
I only ship to countries within the EU.
Switzerland, England and Norway are excluded.
Buyers from these countries must arrange their own transport.
I can advise.
