Aldo Londi for Bitossi Rimini Blu red ceramic vase, Italy, produced in the 1970–1980 period, measuring 21 cm high, 8.5 cm wide and 5.5 cm deep, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Splendid and rare vase from the Rimini Blu series, in red glaze, designed by Aldo Londi in 1959 and still produced today. A rare specimen from the 1970s, in red.
Born in 1911 in Montelupo Fiorentino, Aldo Londi led a life dedicated to art: he was a painter and sculptor, but above all a ceramist. For over fifty years, he collaborated with Bitossi, initially as an artistic director and later as a collaborator.
Ceramic expertise and artistic sensitivity have been her prerogatives. Combined with her predisposition for research, they allowed her to undertake courageous explorations and define a new expressive lexicon.
The iconic Rimini Blu series, produced continuously since 1959, is distinguished by the texture of the surface. The decoration, composed of marks that create a fantastic swirl of abstract-geometric elements set under the blue, evokes the play of light on the surface of the sea.
Subsequently, the series was produced in several colors, including red, in keeping with the era's taste.
Dimensions 21x8.5x7.5 cm
