Dial and Hands
The highlight of this timepiece is undoubtedly the silver dial which features a sophisticated vertical brushed texture. The surface is pristine and plays beautifully with ambient light. It is adorned with applied steel baton hour markers featuring black inserts which match the baton-style hands perfectly. The outer minute track provides a sporty contrast to the elegant center, while the applied Omega logo and script "Seamaster Cosmic" text remain crisp and legible. The dial condition is exceptional, free from spotting or patina that often plagues watches of this era.

Case and Crystal
The stainless steel case features the distinct cushion shape known as the "C-case" design, synonymous with the Cosmic line. The case edges remain sharp and the factory sunburst brushing on the upper surface is clearly visible, suggesting the watch has been treated with great care. This model utilizes a monocoque "front-loading" case design for superior water resistance, evidenced by the "Tool 107" engraving on the back. The case retains its original definition with sharp bevels and distinct brushing on the top lugs. There are only very minor handling marks consistent with careful storage and light use. The crystal is clear and provides an unobstructed view of the stunning dial.

Dimensions
The case measures 35 mm in diameter excluding the crown, but due to the cushion case shape and integrated lug design, it wears slightly larger on the wrist, offering a substantial and modern presence.

Remarks
The Reference 166.036 is a "Tool 107" waterproof model that represents a high point in Omega's engineering history. Finding a Cosmic with a vertical brushed dial in this condition is becoming increasingly difficult. This is a collector-grade example that combines durability with an elegant, space-age aesthetic suitable for both formal and casual wear.
