Canon L1 rangefinder body with a Canon 28mm f/2.8 lens, in very good physical condition and tested and working, dating from 1970 to 1980.
Description from the seller
For sale: Canon Model L1 A rangefinder with a Canon 28mm f/2.8 lens, a 35mm metal analog camera with chrome finishes and black faux-leather coating, very interesting for Canon collectors and fans of vintage rangefinders. The back clearly bears the inscription “Model L1”, useful for correct identification in the catalog and for an accurate Catawiki listing.
The body presents itself as compact and solid, with a silver top plate and clearly visible mechanical controls: advance lever, shutter release button, shutter speed dial, and accessory shoe, in addition to the serial number on the top. On the front, there are the viewfinder/rangefinder windows and the mounted lens with a focusing lever, typical of Canon rangefinder optics of that era.
The Canon lens 28mm 1:2.8 (made in Japan) is a versatile wide-angle, suitable for street photography, reportage, and architecture, and completes a practical and sought-after setup. Aesthetically, the set appears in good overall condition, with normal signs of wear consistent with its age and no obvious dents in the areas shown. Ideal both as a collectible piece and as a base for use, after the usual inspection/service recommended for vintage analog gear. Included are the Canon L1 body and the Canon 28mm f/2.8 lens as shown in the photo.
