Description from the seller
For sale: Kodak No. 3 Folding Pocket, an American vintage bellows camera from the first half of the twentieth century, a piece of great historical charm ideal for collectors of antique cameras and enthusiasts of Kodak photography history. The body presents in a black finish with the original grainy leather covering, a cloth bellows with silvered metal rails and a snap-opening system typical of folding cameras of the era.
The structure is fully deployed in the operational position with the objective mounted on a silvered front panel and a chrome metal shutter window sight positioned on the top, while on the front of the lens the gold ring with adjustments and the central shutter mechanism are clearly recognizable. Based on the camera base there is a metal plate bearing the inscription "Eastman Kodak Company USA" which confirms the origin and authenticity of the piece, an important element for cataloging on CataWiki.
According to the specifications listed in the attached technical data sheet, the camera body appears in fair condition with a functioning shutter, good extension movements, and the bellows in good condition, while the lenses are clean and focusing is working, all positive elements for a camera of this era. The overall condition is excellent for collectors, with a normal patina of time on the metals and on the leather compatible with the object's advanced age, without obvious breaks in the body or the bellows that would compromise its value. This exemplar represents a historic piece of Kodak's production, ideal for those seeking complete and well-preserved folding cameras to display or to add to a collection of American-era photographic equipment.
