Louis XVI Style Architectural base - 1850-1900

Decorative wooden capital, carved and gilded, originating from an ecclesiastical context, dating from the 19th century.

The object features a solid wood structure, finely carved with side scrolls, foliate motifs and molded cornices, finished with burnished gilt on a painted ground, following the traditional techniques of the period.

The rear and lower part show holes and anchor marks, compatible with use as an altar element, a shelf, or liturgical architectural decoration. The object was intended to serve an ornamental and scenographic function, not a structural one.

The original gilding displays natural signs of wear, abrasions, and small losses, testimony to the authenticity and age of the work. The capital is offered in its current state of conservation, with no recent restorations.
