Orator – Gold-Plated Full Hunter Pocket Watch – Elgin Case Co. – ca. 1910–1925 Beautiful vintage Orator pocket watch housed in an elegant gold-plated full hunter case manufactured by Illinois Watch Case Co., Elgin, U.S.A. The watch features a classic cream dial with bold black Arabic numerals, an inner 24-hour track, and a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock. Original blued steel hands enhance the timeless appearance. The signed dial reads ORATOR. The movement is a mechanical hand-wound movement, marked TELENON, with visible ruby jewels. The movement is clean and complete (see photos). The watch winds and runs; however, accuracy has not been tested over 24 hours, so servicing is recommended for optimal performance. The full hunter case opens and closes correctly. Inside caseback markings include: Illinois Watch Case Co. Elgin U.S.A. Serial numbers visible Inscription: “THIS CASE GUARANTEED TO WEAR 10 YEARS” Case shows honest age-related wear, light scratches, and patina consistent with its age, adding to its vintage character. No cracks observed on the dial. Crystal is intact.
