Plaubel Makina 6x9 in very good physical condition and tested and working.
Description from the seller
for sale Plaubel Makina 6x9 (model d.r.p.), a famous high-end German bellows camera, complete with the original leather case, a prestige item of enormous value for collectors of historic cameras and enthusiasts of medium format. The body, in black metal with chrome details, is an example of German industrial design from the 1930s/40s, with the distinctive cross-braced system ("scissor struts") that guarantees exceptional rigidity of the front panel compared to standard folding cameras.
On the front is mounted the renowned Plaubel Anastigmat lens with a Compur shutter, surrounded by diaphragm and shutter speed controls, while on the top there is a folding-frame viewfinder and the coupled rangefinder, an advanced technical feature for the era. The brown leather case stamped “makina” is present and adds value to the lot, protecting the instrument in style.
The technical data sheet reports overall condition as very good ("small signs of wear"): body in good condition, shutter and slow speeds functioning, the lens with clean optics, mechanical movements and focusing functioning, bellows and film back in good condition. The Plaubel Makina was the preferred camera of professional photojournalists before the advent of SLRs, and this exemplar represents a piece of high-level photography history, ready to be displayed or used by skilled hands. Included is the Plaubel Makina 6x9 camera and the original case as shown in the photo.
