Description from the seller

Decorative ceramic bread bin with a wooden frame, dating from the 1920s–1930s. The body consists of glazed ceramic elements set into a precisely fitting wooden construction. The surrounding blue-and-white landscape motifs featuring a windmill, sailing ships, and bodies of water clearly reference classic Delftware and its characteristic Dutch imagery.

The foldable lid is also wood-clad and fitted with a ceramic plate; a small brass fastener underscores the functional design. The combination of ceramic and wood, as well as the deliberate nod to Delft-inspired motifs, is characteristic of decorative household objects from the interwar period.

An attractive example of early modern kitchen fittings, combining practical utility with a traditional Dutch design language and, at the same time, a high decorative appeal.

The ceramic has no chips or cracks. The wood shows light signs of wear.

The goods are wrapped in padding foil and enclosed in bio-foam within a double-walled carton, shipped via DHL.
