African statuette of the Hemba / Luba ethnicity from the DRC Congo representing a high-ranking person, probably a king.

Masculine statuette depicting a figure with bent knees, arms and shoulders with angular proportions, and an intense face accentuated by half-closed almond-shaped eyes. Made of wood, with an old dark brown usage patina.

This type of statue was used for ancestor worship.
