Description from the seller
Digsmed Denmark – Teak serving dish with smoked-glass bowl – Model 109 – Denmark – approx. 1965–1972
A beautiful and original mid-century modern serving platter from the Danish design brand Digsmed Denmark. The platter is crafted from high-quality solid teak wood in a head-of-wood block pattern (end-grain), which gives it a luxurious appearance and a very durable finish. In the center there is an original smoked-glass dish, probably produced by Holmegaard, intended for sauce, dips, or olives.
The bowl has a particularly sculptural form: the four recessed facets run gracefully toward the center, giving the piece a dynamic and modern character. A testament to Scandinavian functionality and minimalist design from the 1960s. Vintage Danish serving bowl with compartments, made of sapwood teak with a smoked-glass bowl, by Digsmed.
