Description from the seller

Baoulé sculpture (Côte d'Ivoire)
Potomo Waka

16 cm

If the function is essentially to hunt Akpanni (bats), which once smoked and served with 'graine' sauce will delight gourmets, the Baoulé are known to be excellent archers who attribute a finesse and aesthetic quality to their sculptures that are often very sensitive, as seen here.

Bibliography: "Potomo Waka" and "L'esprit des petites choses" by Franco Scanzi.
