Chair - Steel, Chrome - Mid-Century Modern Dutch
Mid-Century Modern Dutch Office Chair, Chrome Frame and Green Upholstery, 1960s
Mid-century modern office or conference chair, produced in the Netherlands circa the 1960s–1970s.
The design is attributed to Dutch modernist production, in the style of Gispen, known for functionalist furniture with chromed steel structures.
The chair features a chrome-plated metal frame with elegant slender legs, upholstered seat and backrest in original green fabric, and metal armrests with dark padded tops. The proportions and construction are characteristic of Dutch post-war office furniture.
A manufacturer’s label is present underneath the seat. While no definitive designer attribution can be confirmed, the chair clearly reflects the aesthetics and construction principles associated with Dutch mid-century modern design.
The chair remains structurally solid and usable. Condition is good vintage condition, with visible signs of age and use, including light wear to the upholstery and minor surface marks to the metal frame, consistent with its age.
