New 2023 calendar featuring a signed photograph by Belgian cyclist Remco Evenepoel, measuring 42 x 30 cm and printed on paper.
Description from the seller
This is a signed photo from the 2023 calendar by Remco Evenepoel, who won the world road race championships in Wollongong in 2022.
I personally obtained this signed calendar from Remco Evenepoel at a New Year’s reception in his fan local in Schepdaal.
The autograph is authentic and can be verified by him or his entourage.
It is an important calendar because 2023 was a crucial and eventful year for Remco Evenepoel, marked by great victories (Liège–Bastogne–Liège, World Time Trial Championship) and great disappointments, such as the forced withdrawal in the Giro d’Italia due to COVID, despite a strong start, which had a huge impact and became one of his greatest career disappointments. It was a year of highs and lows, and he was also named Sportsman of the Year in Belgium for the third time.
Highlights:
• Victory at Liège–Bastogne–Liège: He won the monument for the second time.
• World Time Trial Championship: He became world champion in the time trial, a first for Belgium.
• Crystal Bicycle & Sportsman of the Year: He won again important Belgian prizes.
Low points:
• Giro d’Italia: He had to withdraw in the pink jersey after a positive COVID test, costing him a possible podium finish.
• Giro debacle: There were also false accusations about the COVID test, which were later refuted.
In short, 2023 was a year of enormous successes but also of a major setback that overshadowed expectations and taught him a lot about the capriciousness of cycling.
• The autograph is from the Belgian cyclist Remco Evenepoel.
• He won the road race on September 25, 2022, after already winning Liège–Bastogne–Liège and the Vuelta a España earlier that year.
• The victory was historic, as it was the first Belgian men’s elite world title on the road since 2012.
• Evenepoel rode solo to the victory and finished with a lead of more than two minutes over the second-placed rider.
This calendar is new. A unique item for the collector. See photos for your own impression.
