Description from the seller

Up for sale is a RARE tooth of prehistoric Woolly Mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius) from Pleistocene deposit of Heilongjiang, NE China!

This is an authentic Pleistocene mammoth tooth from fluvial/lacustrine deposit Heilongjiang Province in Northeast China, a region well known for Ice-Age megafauna. The specimen shows the classic enamel plate pattern characteristic of the genus Mammuthus, making it a recognizable and attractive display fossil.

During the Pleistocene, northern China was home to several mammoth species, most notably the woolly mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius) in the Late Pleistocene, and the earlier steppe mammoth (Mammuthus trogontherii). These large proboscideans were major members of the region’s megafauna, alongside woolly rhinoceros and giant deer.

The tooth offered here displays natural weathering and mineralization from tens of thousands of years of burial, with no modern restoration. It is a solid natural history specimen suitable for collectors, educators, and enthusiasts of Ice-Age fossils.

——————————

The size measurements of this item is around 19 x 19 x 8.5 cm/7.48 x 7.48 x 3.35 inches, with no repairs and restorations.

For shipping, the Chunghwa post (the official post of Taiwan) will be used to carry the item worldwide.
