Brass and glass side table with two glass surfaces and a transparent methacrylate element, in a Hollywood Regency neoclassical style attributed to Maison Charles, European manufacture from the 1970s, dimensions 40 cm high by 55 cm wide and 55 cm deep, in good used condition with minor signs of wear and brass patina.
Description from the seller
Lot Description (Maison Charles Style Side Table)
Title: Brass and Lucite side table with horse heads, Hollywood Regency style (attributed to Maison Charles).
Author/School: Anonymous, in the style of Maison Charles. European manufacture (probably French), 1970s. This design is an icon of mid-century Neoclassical style.
Technique and Support: The structure is brass (or gilded bronze) with transparent acrylic columns. It features two glass surfaces, one on the top that is transparent and the lower one made of smoked mirror glass. The bases are hexagonal, possibly lacquered wood.
Theme: Vintage design furniture, neoclassical style with equestrian motifs (the flying horse heads of Gansu).
Measures
Overall dimensions: 40 cm (height) x 55 cm (width) x 55 cm (length/depth).
Note: These dimensions position it as an end table or corner table, not as a standard coffee table which is usually wider.
Condition: The table is in good overall vintage condition, with signs of use and wear normal for its age and material. The brass may present a natural patina or slight oxidation in some areas, which is customary in these pieces. It is recommended to review high-resolution photographs for a detailed appraisal.
Additional Details: This is a highly sought-after collectible piece, valued for its sculptural design and timeless elegance. It is perfect for adding a touch of Hollywood Regency-style sophistication to any room.
