Description from the seller

A bi-folio from C19th Koran, scribed in Kashmir. The leaf contains scripture from the final verses of Chapter 53 An-Najm (The Stars v36-62 which focus on the themes of individual responsibility, accountability, the power of Allah, and a final call to submission. This section of the Qur'an also emphasizes that no soul bears the burden of another, that humans are rewarded for their own striving, and that the "Approaching Hour" is near, serving as a stern warning to the disbelievers to take the Quran seriously and a reassurance to believers of the ultimate triumph of truth. It also contains the Surah of Chapter 54 and its first verse.

The verses are scribed in naskh script in black ink and is set within a rectangle framed by a solid gold trim. Several plain gold roundels mark out the verses and there are devotional markings in red providing guidance to the reader. A neat gold and red floral device embellishes the corners.

Please note that shipping costs are not solely the cost of the postal delivery service itself. Included within the shipping price is the work undertaken to prepare the article, for photography, for uploading to Catawiki, for preparation and packaging the article securely and for transporting the article to the postal delivery agent for processing.
