Ralf Altrieth presents Amis d'esprit - XL, an original 98 × 112 cm acrylic painting on canvas, signed at the back, in violet and beige, created in 2025 in France, sold direct from the artist with a certificate of authenticity, delivered rolled without a frame.
Description from the seller
This is a large-format canvas painting, handmade, a unique work signed by Ralf Altrieth on the back. Supplied with a certificate of authenticity, it will be delivered rolled in protective packaging.
RALF ALTRIETH is a Franco-German painter recognized for his expressive and singular work, on the border between figuration and abstraction. With a very personal language, he fuses neo-expressionism and lyrical abstraction into a universe marked by line.
Their gestural traits are born like musical improvisations: spontaneous, rhythmic, driven by a mix of intention and intuition.
Their body of work, nourished by more than thirty years of creation across painting, engraving, drawing, photography, and music, is distinguished by a rare and particularly sensitive pictorial energy.
Her works are exhibited in numerous art venues in France and internationally, including MAC Paris, Galerie Théo de Seine (Paris), Galerie N5 (Montpellier), Galerie Hartmut Beck (Erlangen), and Galerie La Salamandre (Nîmes).
His works are now featured in many private collections around the world.

Press:
For several years, Ralf Altrieth has been painting episodes from an imaginary and fantastical world that he seems to have created entirely on his own. [...] His works challenge our certainties. They delve beneath the surface of things to focus on their essence.
Louis Doucet, art critic
In a game of depth and superposition, with an alternation of forms that converge inward or extend outward, Ralf Altrieth mixes genres, images, and styles, making them clash.
I learned an important thing from the painting of certain painters, whom I feel close to (Basquiat, Penck, Bendix Harms, Baselitz, Garouste, Picasso...): it is radicality. I try to push painting further. Painting is something greater than myself. Radicality allows us to go further, to detach ourselves, to see more. Today, I find that by painting, I am creating myself.
