Small, finely painted oil painting on a wooden panel with a classical deer-in-the-forest motif, probably created around 1900 (c. 1880–1920).
The image shows a standing stag in a forested landscape and is typical of bourgeois hunting and salon painting of the period. The painting style is detailed and atmospheric, with warm natural colours and fine handling of light.
The painting is housed in an original, old gilded stucco frame, which, due to its age, has a beautiful patina and fits the motif very well.
A decorative original from the period around 1900, ideal for collectors of historical animal and hunting motifs or as a classic interior piece.
