Description from the seller
Mini Cooper S - 40th anniversary edition - 04-2000 - 3 owners
This original Mini Cooper 40th Anniversary is in very nice condition! It was taken over from the third owner in Italy, who has always kept it well maintained.
The dry climate, heated garage, and use only for short trips keep this Mini looking very neat and running well even after 25 years.
The Mini Cooper is finished in the 40th anniversary edition; this special edition of the final series of Classic Minis is very rare and in Italy is only available in Mulberry Red.
This red edition is very special because of the metallic gold glow, the beautiful Bordeaux red leather, the aluminum dashboard with 40th Magnolia clocks, and the full leather finish.
The previous owner kept the Mini well maintained and stored it warm under a cover in a garage near Milan; the odometer reading is 12,200 km.
For the enthusiast who is looking for one of the most special Classic Minis with the powerful 1.3 MPI engine.
Exterior
Very neat Mulberry dark red metallic paint, finished on the original 12" Minilight wheels with tires as good as new! The wheels show light signs of use.
The finish shows normal signs of wear consistent with its age and use, and is in overall good condition.
The fender flares are original and neatly painted to match the car, and equipped with original rubbers.
The chrome work is very good; it has two nice stainless steel bumpers, an 11‑slat chrome grille, two extra driving lamps, and green-tinted windows with heating.
The Mini Cooper is equipped with a rare 40th edition hood badge, Wing badge on the rear tailgate, GB chrome letters on the rear, Cooper striping in silver, and two Union Jack badges on the P panels.
Interior
Fully original! The interior features Bordeaux-red seats and rear bench with beige piping and trim; the seats are in used condition but very neat.
The dashboard panels below and above are in the same finish, as are the door panels and gear knob cover! The dashboard itself is made of brushed aluminum, originally supplied with the 40th edition, the gauges are from Smiths and feature magnolia-white dials with the 40th edition logo.
The steering wheel, equipped with an airbag, is entirely leather and finished in the same beige leather color as the piping of the seats; the gear knob is made of aluminium with the John Cooper badge.
The original MG/Rover MINI radio/CD player is very rare and a highly sought-after object.
The floor is fitted with an original red carpet set—new Cooper W mats with logo and finish.
The headlining is neat, and the leather is beautiful with a lived-in look.
Technology:
When you pop the hood, you’ll see the powerful 1.3 MPI engine, over 63 HP, and maintained only with original parts!
The engine runs fantastically, is equipped with an alarm with an immobilizer, 4-speed manual transmission, and a perfectly smooth-shifting gearbox.
The heater works well, as do all the electronics such as lighting, windscreen wipers, etc.
The suspension is in good condition, equipped with front disc brakes, a brake booster and new fluids.
The odometer reading has been taken!

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
