Description from the seller
This modular bookcase wall dates from the second half of the 1960s and stands out for its clean, functional mid-century design, with slender metal ladders and warm-toned wooden shelves.
The construction consists of several open shelves and a centrally integrated, closed cabinet element with two doors. The wood surfaces display a vivid grain and a harmonious, era-appropriate color tone. Individual edges and surfaces have been carefully refinished, without losing the authentic character.
The metal ladder side panels are in the original color and have only been cleaned and preserved. They contribute to the characteristic light look and securely support the shelves. The shelving wall must be mounted to the wall; the suspension is via the upper brackets. The lower, smaller bracket in the middle can, if desired, be mounted higher as an alternative, enabling flexible adjustment to the wall surface or the desired appearance.
Due to its condition, there is a small, professionally executed repair on a corner at the bottom left. In addition, a shelf edge and portions of the surface have been discreetly repaired. There are age-appropriate, authentic signs of use that reinforce the original vintage character without affecting function or stability.
Overall, the bookcase is in sturdy, good vintage condition and is ideal for books, objects, or ceramics. A characterful original piece of furniture from the 1960s with genuine patina and a clear architectural presence.
