Annemarie de Groot – Circus, hand-signed, in good condition, framed, 82 × 102 cm with frame, originating from the Netherlands, period 1990–2000, sold by Galerie.
Description from the seller
Annemarie de Groot graduated from the Minerva Academy in Groningen in 1978 and subsequently undertook training at the Kokoschka Schule in Salzburg.
She lives and works in Groningen. Annemarie de Groot has always been inspired by circus, theater, festivals, and cabaret. This is also reflected in her work, which is filled with musicians, animals, and ballerinas, thereby creating an atmosphere of the 1920s. Behind all that cheerful mood, however, melancholy can also be found, in which everyday reality is reflected. In addition to this kind of work, Annemarie de Groot — a student of Corneille — also creates more expressionistic nudes, landscapes, and still lifes.
Dimensions of the work with frame: 82 x 102 cm
Dimensions of the artwork without frame: 56 x 75 cm
Viewings are of course possible. Additionally, we have our own in-house framing workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary. Furthermore, we make use of restorers from the industry organization: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you wish to utilize this service, please let us know. Collection of purchased works can be arranged on Monday and Tuesday from 10:00 to 17:00, Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 to 14:00, and Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00.
