Description from the seller
A historic Citroen, surprisingly long-lived and with great charisma, that left an indelible mark on the automotive world. Produced from 1948 to 1990 – a full 42 years of success – the 2CV (short for 'deux-chevaux', meaning two horses) was designed in the 1930s with the aim of creating a sturdy, functional, and economical car.
Designed to meet extremely practical requirements, it had to transport four people and 50 kg of cargo at a cruising speed of 50 km/h, while also adapting to muddy and uneven roads. It is even said that one of the design parameters was the ability to cross a plowed field with a basket of eggs without breaking them, and to travel 100 km with only 3 liters of fuel.
Officially presented at the Paris Motor Show on October 7, 1948, the 2CV has, over the years, become a true cult, a sort of religion on four wheels.
