Lourdes – Apparition of Our Lady of Lourdes – lamp – patinated metal and blue glass – France – circa 1900
Professionally shipped – more than 850 five-star reviews worldwide.
Devotional lamp depicting the apparition of Mary to Bernadette at the grotto of Lourdes. Mary is in prayer on the rock, facing the kneeling Bernadette with a staff and rosary. Beneath the grotto the spring wells up, depicted in blue cast glass and illuminated from within. On the base a cartouche with the inscription “Apparition de N.D. de Lourdes.” Signed Arnoult. The lamp emits a soft, atmospheric light through the glass of the spring.
Height about 28 cm, in good condition with normal signs of use and aging, lighting works.
