Lisa Braun - Paper streamers

In this painting I played with color combinations; they are spontaneous, light, and loose, as if garlands and confetti were fluttering around. The painting is chipped, scratched, with brushstrokes and drips: I let myself be guided by the painting process and my intuition during the creation of a work. Set within this environment is the portrait of a young woman, rendered with delicate and sober colors that interact with the abstract background. Look down and she has a rather calm, contemplative, and self-confident expression.
