Description from the seller
Prestigious acrylic painting on canvas, signed and dated 1973 at the bottom left and on the back where a dedication from the Master is present, measuring 67 x 87 cm including the frame.
Mario Russo was an Italian painter, father of the well-known actress Adriana Russo. Born in Naples in 1925, he graduated in 1948 from the Naples Art Institute, and during his school years, his constant concern was the human figure, which would be at the center of his canvases. The following years led to the evolution of the most important aspect of his painting: the Woman. The master was captivated by the sense of beauty, which is the characteristic of a female body permeated with sensuality. In 1950, he moved to Rome and began participating in exhibitions around the world: Paris, London, Munich, New York, at the Royalton College in Vermont, and in Toronto at the Sudbury University.
In 1987, he was in Washington with an exhibition dedicated to Federico Fellini's cinema. In 1992, he held a retrospective at the Museo di Roma, and in 1994, in Messina, an exhibition titled 'Portrait of a Woman'. In 1997, in New York, at the invitation of Alitalia, he had a solo exhibition at J.F. Kennedy Airport. In 1999, in Rome, at the Galleria Ca D'Oro, he held a solo exhibition titled 'Women'. Mario Russo died in Rome on March 7, 2000.
As can be seen from all the reviews, I provide careful packaging and shipping via trackable courier. The painting has protective glass, and the buyer at the time of purchase can request in the internal messaging that it be removed before shipment. Otherwise I decline any responsibility and no complaints will be accepted for damages caused by breakage by the buyer themselves. The frame is kindly offered as a gift, and therefore no complaints regarding it will be accepted. The buyer, with the shipment, implicitly accepts the above terms.
