Description from the seller

Mantel clock in gilded régule and alabaster — France, 19th century.

French 19th-century mantel clock, resting on a moulded alabaster base, adorned with decorative feet and rings.

The upper section features a figurative decor with a pastoral theme, consisting of a young peasant girl accompanied by botanical elements and agricultural attributes. The whole is aligned with neoclassical taste inspired by the Louis XVI style, highly favored in the mid-19th century.

The circular dial in white enamel with Roman numerals is surrounded by a decorative ring.
French key-wound mechanical movement, striking the hours and half-hours, housed in a brass case.
It works as both a key and its balance wheel.

Overall good condition for its age; the structure in gilded régule is in good preservation, with wear and rubbing and slight loss of gilding on the reliefs, in keeping with the age.
Alabaster base in good condition, with no visible damage, showing faint marks and micro-scratches from use.
Enamel dial shows several visible cracks/hairline fractures, old cracks with no loss of enamel or detached chips observed, numerals readable, overall stable; see the photos, they are part of the description.
