Antique civic seal stamp with a coat of arms, made in northern Italy between 1900 and 1910, in wood and iron, in an antique style and in good used condition.
Description from the seller
Exceptionally without reservation!
Old civil stamp with the coat of arms of the municipal magistracy, made in Northern Italy between the late 19th and early 20th century.
The object, of great historical charm, was intended for sealing administrative acts, protocols, and official archival documents, as suggested by the type of seal matrix and the context of use.
The finely engraved metal plate depicts a clearly civic emblem, characterized by a chequered shield surmounted by a mural crown and flanked by elegant branches of vegetation, symbols traditionally associated with municipal authority, the administrative order, and institutional legitimacy. The engraving, still perfectly legible, reveals pre-industrial artisanal workmanship of excellent quality.
The original turned wooden handle preserves a beautiful patina of age, homogeneous and authentic, coherent with the object's age. Overall the stamp is in good general condition, with normal signs of use and aging that confirm its authenticity and enhance its historical value.
It is a rare and evocative piece, ideal for collectors of seals (sigillography), period administrative objects, and historical documents, as well as for notarial studies or archives seeking an original item for presentation.
The item will be shipped with careful packaging and tracked shipping, with a signature required upon delivery.
