Toni Thorimbert (Lausanne, 1957) is an Italian photographer, reporter and art director, known for his versatility, spanning social reportage to fashion.
Beginnings (the 1970s): He/she starts out very young, documenting the social tensions of the era through reportage.
Editorial Career (1980s and 1990s): Became a reference point for fashion and portrait photography, collaborating with international magazines such as Details, Wallpaper, and Brutus, and Italian outlets such as GQ, Rolling Stone, and Wired.
Dedication: In 2006 he published Carta Stampata, an anthology that gathers thirty years of editorial work. Recently he has dedicated himself to conceptual photography with volumes such as Seduction of Photography (2017).
Style and Didactics
His approach to portraiture focuses on the relationship between photographer and subject, combining the practical aspect with a deep philosophical reflection. He is very active in teaching:
