Henri Elwing
Born in Paris in 1925 as the only son of Polish parents, after a brilliant school career, his desire to pursue photography grew stronger. He became an essential photographer for the magazine ELLE from 1955 to 1985, with the ambition of capturing testimonial photos that reveal the true nature of his subjects, their quirks, their joys... Never paparazzi photos, always images consented to by his subjects.

Born in Paris in 1925, Henri Elwing was the only son of Polish parents. After completing his education with outstanding brilliance, his desire to be a photographer outweighed everything, and he became one of ELLE Magazine’s greatest photographers from 1955 to 1985, nurturing the ambition of taking photos that expressed a photographed person’s true self, their idiosyncrasies, their joys… never any paparazzi shots, only ever pictures his subjects agreed to.
