Milk jug - .833 silver

Creamer in Portuguese silver .833, contrasted with the Javali II mark from Lisbon, corresponding to the legal hallmark in force between 1887 and 1938.

Piece made in hammered and chiselled silver, with a stocky body resting on a molded base, featuring a pronounced pouring spout and a cut-out handle in a historicist style.

The decoration featuring vegetal motifs and shell-like elements fits within the Lisbon production of the late 19th century and the early decades of the 20th century, with its execution and use plausibly dated to c. 1900–1930.

A representative example of Portuguese goldsmithing from the period, combining utilitarian function and artistic value.
