Description from the seller
Armenian copper chandelier with a square base – Ottoman Empire, 19th century
Turned and moulded copper chandelier, resting on a square base with gadrooned decoration.
The baluster shaft bears an inscription engraved in Armenian on the central body, probably a donor mark or a short votive formula.
Characteristic production of the Armenian workshops of Anatolia in the Ottoman era, intended for religious use (church or oratory) or Christian domestic use.
The binet is dug directly into the mass.
Beautiful antique patina with verdigris oxidation and signs of wear consistent with age.
No apparent restoration. Wear and small dings visible, with no structural weakness.
An interesting object both for its architectural form and for the presence of the Armenian inscription, bearing witness to the Christian community context under Ottoman rule.
Photos are an integral part of the object's description and complement its presentation. They allow you to assess its condition and features. Please examine them carefully before making any commitment.
The item will be carefully packaged and shipped with a tracking number to ensure fast and secure delivery.
