Signed; Dayanita Singh - Retrospective - 2010

Superb publication - as usual with Mapfre - offering a broad overview of Dayanita Singh's work and presenting her important series Mona, I Am As I Am, Go Away Closer, Dream Villa, Ladies of Calcutta, Blue Book and Bombay. Signed and dated on the title page. Attached is the original booklet of 40 pages with the French translation of the texts. The book is in excellent condition, besides two tiny round dents on the front cover, a bump to the lower right corner, and decent traces of shelfwear. To coincide with the exhibition, a catalogue has been published featuring texts by Carlos Gollonet, curator of the exhibition and photography advisor to the MAPFRE Foundation; Aveek Sen, a writer specializing in photography; Sunil Khilnami, professor and director of South Asian Studies at Johns Hopkins University; and Mona Ahmed herself, the subject of one of the series. In keeping with the exhibition, the catalogue offers a profound exploration of Singh's work and the realities of contemporary India.
