Giacomo Manzù (1908–1991) - Ragazzo con l'anatra

Rare ink drawing on Chinese-style paper by Giacomo Manzù, titled (Boy with the Duck) and dated (1940). In the center, at groin height, the work presents a patch, evidently intentional by the author, with white paper that is thicker, upon which the drawing continues without interruption. The intervention is due to a burn mark on the original paper and indicates the artist's wish to preserve the completed work anyway. The paper is loose and not affixed to a support. Irregular margins.
The work, as shown by the closing cartoon, comes from the noted Galleria Romana dello Zodiaco (via Romagna 10), a gallery known for the quality of the works presented. The work originates from my private collection, and previously from the national antique market, and will be delivered with a certificate of authenticity and legitimate provenance.
