AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Anatolian terracotta jug with ribbed body, Late Bronze Age – Early Iron Age.

A wheel-made pottery jug from Anatolia (modern Turkey), characterised by a globular body with vertical ribbing, a short neck and a single loop handle. Such ribbed utilitarian vessels are typical of Anatolian ceramic traditions from the Late Bronze Age to the Early Iron Age, associated with cultures in the Hittite and early Phrygian sphere.

The vessel is made of coarse terracotta, fired at low temperature, without slip or glaze. Surface wear, minor chips and abrasions are consistent with age and long-term burial.

Dimensions: height approx. 11 cm,
maximum diameter approx. 12.5cm.
Weight: approx. 261 g.

Acquired on the Japanese antique market.
Shipped from Japan with secure packaging and tracked international delivery.
