Description from the seller
These speakers are the Akai SR-633 model, a pair of vintage 3-way floorstanding speakers made in Spain by Akai from the 1980s, focused on powerful and dynamic sound.
Key technical features:
• Type: 3-way,
• Drivers/Chasis:
• Woofer/bass: ~300-380 mm (12-15”) with a cone and foam surround.
• Midrange: ~100-130 mm cone.
• Tweeter/highs: Horn-loaded (with a characteristic perforated grille for wide dispersion and bright highs).
• Power handling: approx. 50-80 W RMS (maximum/music up to 100-150 W, typical of the era).
• Impedance: 8 ohms.
• Sensitivity: High, approx. 95-98 dB (very efficient, works well with low-power amplifiers and easily reaches high volumes).
• Frequency response: Approx. 30–35 Hz – 22,000 Hz
• Dimensions: Approx. 400-450 mm (width) × 700-800 mm (height) × 300-350 mm (depth,)
• Weight: Around 15-20 kg per speaker.
• Finish: silver/gray front baffle, cabinet in wood or dark vinyl
They’re speakers known for their “fun” and energetic sound: deep, powerful bass, clear midrange and bright highs thanks to the horn (they can sound bright or “aggressive” in some genres). Ideal for rock, pop, disco, or dynamic music with vintage amplifiers. They’re not the most neutral or refined for pure hi-fi, but they offer great impact and efficiency. If the woofer foams are intact (as they seem), they sound excellent for their age. A rare model on today’s market.
