Description from the seller
Low table, coffee table / sculpture 'Libros' designed by Daniel Chassin, 2003 – France
Magnificent coffee table created by French sculptor Daniel Chassin (1950 - ). Highly original, the table consists of a true contemporary sculpture in gilded brass that forms its base or foot, supporting a top made of tempered glass with rounded corners. This sculptural group, composed of books arranged in different positions and planes, surprises the viewer thanks to the colors and textures resulting from the various techniques employed by the artist. Chassin uses the brass that he molds, welds, polishes, gilds, and patinas. The result is a lightweight coffee table, also accentuated by the glass. Signed on the spine of a book, 'D. Chassin 2003.' Since it is a sculpture, it can be displayed as such without the glass. Versatility and functionality.
Daniel Chassin (born 1950) is a French sculptor who creates works in brass and bronze. Sometimes with simplified forms, sometimes realistic, and other times with invented or abstract shapes. His most frequently used repertoire includes the human figure and animals, often imbued with a sense of mystery. This artist always finds a balance between robustness and delicacy, which he believes is where 'perfection resides.'
Sculpture dimensions: 38 x 62 x 30 cm.
Glass dimensions: 120 x 61 cm.
The shipping costs include custom-made professional packaging; personalized shipping with tracking number and warranty.
