Indien origin, Täbriz‑design hand‑knotted oriental carpet in wool on cotton, measuring 162 × 108 cm, produced in the late 20th century, in good overall condition with signs of age and wear.
Description from the seller
Täbriz-Design – handgeknüpfter Orientteppich
This handwoven Oriental rug is crafted in the classic Tabriz design, one of the most well-known and finest pattern traditions in Persian rug art. Characteristic is the evenly structured allover pattern of diamond-shaped cartouches, arranged rhythmically across the entire field, giving the rug a calm, balanced overall impression.
The bright background field forms an elegant contrast to the richly detailed motifs in red, blue, green, and dark accent tones. The individual ornaments are clearly delineated from one another and display a fine line work, as is typical for Tabriz designs. The surrounding border is strongly emphasized, florally ornamental in design, and harmoniously encloses the central field without dominating its effect.
The rug appears particularly balanced and versatile thanks to the regular repetition of the pattern. The weaving is even and neatly executed, allowing the details of the pattern to stand out clearly.
Origin: India
Design: Tabriz
Production: hand-knotted
