Description from the seller
Bang & Olufsen Beogram 5000 with original MMC 4 cartridge and new belt
The Beogram 5000 radial cartridge was the perfect complement to a variety of B&O systems. Operation was fully automatic. A single press of the play button started the motor and activated the turntable's logic circuits. These determined the size and the correct speed of the record and lowered the tonearm with the needle into the run-in groove.
It was a very fast and at the same time highly precise control system that played music within about eight seconds — far faster and gentler than human hands could ever manage. The system was also error-free; for example, the needle could only be lowered when a record was on the turntable, thereby eliminating costly mistakes and accidents.
At the end of the record, the motor automatically shut off and the tonearm returned to its starting position. If desired, the same record could be played automatically an arbitrary number of times; for each repetition, a single press of the play button was sufficient. Up to seven consecutive playbacks could be preprogrammed in this way.
The turntable is in good to very good condition for its age. Of course there are
Used condition: the device has been used. There are light scratches on the hood (but I think they can be removed)
to polish oneself out)
The turntable has a new drive belt.
