Description from the seller
beautiful work by Pol Boudry (Antwerp, 2 May 1913 – 12 February 1976)
dimensions of painting : h49x45
Paul Boudry (Antwerp, May 2, 1913 – February 12, 1976) was a Belgian painter.
He attended the Higher Institute in Antwerp and painted for three years from a live model under the guidance of Isidoor Opsomer. The refinement, however, he received from his master Walter Vaes. He admired the seventeenth-century Flemish flower painters and studied their technique thoroughly.
He was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berchem. His grandfather Aloïs Boudry (1851-1938) studied in Antwerp under Nicaise De Keyser, and his father Robert Boudry (1878-1961) was a very well-known Antwerp figure for his cityscapes and, above all, for the alleyways.
