Description from the seller
Martin Parr (SIGNED) - Pride
Book in very good condition signed by the artist
Original photos from the book for sale.
This edition features 37 of Parr’s most remarkable photographs, taken at Bristol Pride between 2017 and 2024, capturing the energy, colour, and spirit of the event over eight years.
I've covered more than four Pride marches and it's still one of the best days for photography in Bristol. I love taking photos at the moment when people come together for the march; it lets me photograph superb handmade placards and isolate them to give them more presence. It's fantastic to see how much Pride marches are appreciated today by so many people. That wouldn't have been the case in their early days." – Martin Parr
Martin Parr has been one of the most recognizable contemporary photographers, famous for his ironic and lucid gaze on consumer society, tourism, and everyday habits. Like Steve McCurry and Alex Webb, he masters color and composition, but with a more satirical approach. In the Magnum lineage, alongside Elliott Erwitt, Robert Capa, or Bruce Gilden, he observes the human with frankness. His work also dialogues with W. Eugene Smith, Willy Ronis, and the provocative elegance of Helmut Newton.
