Set of two antique bronze apothecary pestles with their original stampers.
Southern Netherlands / France – 18th century
A wonderful and authentic pair of two antique bronze apothecary mortars, each with a matching original pestle. These mortars show clear signs of intensive professional use and have a beautiful, untouched patina.
Mortar 1 – With handles (apothecary model)
Material: bronze
Height: about 11 cm
Weight: 1.286 kg
Features: two bulb-shaped ears, concentric rotating rings
Bottom marked “MO 6” (mortar – size/inventory number)
Dating: 17th – early 18th century
Origin: probably Southern Netherlands / Northern France
Original, matching stamp included.
Pestle 2 – Without earplugs
Material: brass / copper
Weight: 1.453 kg
Shape: conical, with fine threads
Dating: 18th–19th century
Original, matching stamp included.
Condition
Authentic antique, no cracks or repairs.
Beautiful, natural patina (not polished)
Wear and tear fully in line with age and use.
Stampers are original and compatible with the screw jacks.
