The JBL SUB138 is an active subwoofer that was often bundled with affordable JBL surround sound systems, such as the SCS (Studio Cinema LUIDSPREKERS) series, around the early 2000s. It is a compact, no-nonsense subwoofer designed to handle the low-frequency range of satellite speakers
With a downward-facing (down-firing) driver and a bass-reflex port, it delivers a noticeable addition to the 'impact' of movies and music. It is a functional and easy-to-integrate component.
