Cornavin - Unknown - No reserve price - Men - 1960-1969

Hello! Thank you for visiting the Old Time Studio listing. For 20 years, we have been buying and selling antique and vintage watches. I joined Catawiki to sell and acquire new pieces for my collection. As a business, I issue an official invoice for every purchase, so you can buy with full confidence. For sale is a beautiful Cornavin Geneve Extra-Flat 17-jewel watch from the 1960s, a must-have for collectors but also perfect for daily wear. Beautiful dial Gold-plated case with rare screw-down steel back Mechanical hand-wound 17-jewel movement, fully functional Case size: 36 mm (without crown) Strap width: 18 mm The History of Cornavin: In the 19th century, Geneva became the center of high-quality Swiss watchmaking. Cornavin is named after the central train station and surrounding district of Geneva, and the Cornavin brand was founded here in 1926. From the early years, the company focused on foreign markets, and by the 1960s, Cornavin watches were known not only in Europe but also in South America and Asia. The brand became synonymous with the clean, classic Cornavin style. The influx of cheap Japanese quartz watches affected Cornavin, but the brand preserved its tradition of mechanical watches. In the early 1990s, it changed ownership, returning to the premium category it originally belonged to. The photos speak for themselves – a rare collectible piece, but also perfect for wearing.
