Rutile (TiO₂) occurring as metallic, dark brown prismatic crystals and aggregates embedded in a quartz-rich matrix. The crystals show a strong adamantine to metallic luster, with locally developed striations and subparallel growth. Rutile is present as massive to coarse crystalline intergrowths, typical for Alpine-type fissure mineralization. This specimen comes from a reputable source and has not been altered or treated in any way—what you see is its natural form. The photos are taken under daylight-equivalent LED lighting to show the specimen as accurately as possible. Please note: some colors can be difficult to capture accurately in photographs.
