Langstrumpf sewing box in wood with veneer, made in Germany, dating from circa 1960–1970, in good condition with minor signs of wear.
Description from the seller
This sewing box is an original piece of furniture from the Mid-Century era and has been carefully restored.
The body is made of veneered wood and has been finished in a new matte black tone. The graphic stripes in warm wood tones emphasize the era-specific character and echo the clean design language of the 1950s/60s. The slim, conical wooden legs are well proportioned and finished in a color that complements them.
The door handles were also repainted. The shade was deliberately matched to the brass-colored carrying handle and harmoniously picks up its warm gold tone, creating a calm and high-quality overall impression.
Inside, the sewing box offers a practical compartment layout with plenty of storage space for sewing tools. The lids that fold open on both sides operate smoothly; the original brass fittings, as well as the curved carrying handle with a wooden grip, are in working order and well preserved.
A veneer repair is located inside, in the area beneath the handle screw. It was professionally carried out and is not outwardly noticeable. Age- and use-related signs of wear are present and correspond to the age of the piece of furniture; they emphasize the authentic vintage character.
For shipping, the legs and the handle are dismantled to ensure safe transport.
A decorative yet functional one-of-a-kind piece with a clear mid-century vibe.
