Christ on the cross – wood carving – Anri, Val Gardena, South Tyrol, Italy – ca. 1950–1970

Finely carved crucifix with an expressively developed Christ figure, crafted in wood by the Anri workshop in Val Gardena. The anatomy is carefully modeled, with attention to the tension in the body, the drapery folds of the loincloth, and the restrained facial expression. The warm wood tone and the sober cross enhance the calm, devotional appearance. On the reverse side of the statue is the original Anri sticker. The piece originates from the religious art shop Van Paridon in Amsterdam.
Dimensions: cross 52 × 30 cm, Christ figure 28 × 21 cm; in good condition with normal signs of use and aging. The crossbeam is not attached to the upright beam.
