A 17 cm high Art Deco ceramic melon/pumpkin wine jug by Louis Lourioux of France, dating from the 1920s, in good condition with a small notch on the handle and the site marked with the 'à la Louve' mark.

Ceramic Art Deco Melon/Pumpkin wine jug by Louis Lourioux (1874-1930), France, 1920s.
Louis Lourioux, who died in a car accident in 1930, was a ceramicist active in Foëcy between 1895 and 1930, a contemporary of Lalique and Gallé. He was famous for his sandstone pieces and his great mastery of the arts of fire, including ceramics.
The jug stands about 17 cm high and has a diameter of about 15 cm. The jug is in very good condition, except for a small notch on the handle. The jug is signed at the bottom with its 'à la Louve' brand (see https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Lourioux).
